Everyone knows the 90’s show about a teenage boy’s life getting turned upside down when he moved in with his uncle and auntie in Bel-Air, but you sure don’t know this version.
The year was 2019 and a fellow by the name of Morgan Cooper created a short-film based off the show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. With a bit more drama, darkness, and edge, this version was simply made as a fan project. However, millions of views later, including one from Will Smith himself, Morgan is now directing, producing, and writing a new show about an alternate version of the ’90s sitcom.
Will Smith recently interviewed Morgan on his YouTube show saying “As funny as the episodes are, there was a whole other layer that you couldn’t do. In a one-hour drama, you can get eight episode arcs. For me, I moved to LA and started the Fresh Prince and all of my friends started getting killed and going to jail. The escape that I made from it in real life was the escape that Will made in the show.”
