He’s one of the hardest working men in show business, with no indication that he plans on stepping away from the piano or doing live performances anytime soon. But Billy will be turning 76 this spring and let’s face it, not as spry as he used to be. Not many are once they enter that age frame. The Piano Man had fans very worried recently as he fell completely on his back (as you’ll see in the video below) while performing on stage in Connecticut. Thankfully, Billy got back up, performed one more song before ending the show. No word on if he injured himself, but let’s hope he’s resting and will be okay.
During his recent performance here in Indy, I heard from several listeners who went to see his concert and many of them noticed Billy looking a little frail these days. Again, he’s going to be 76 in just a couple of months. Billy, we want you around for a long time, so maybe just stay seated at the piano~ -Greg Browning/Afternoons 107.9 The Mix
