Typically when you think of a church service, you imagine a peaceful sanctuary for reflection. Maybe singing an uplifting hymn or someone shouting, ‘PRAISE JESUS!” is as rowdy as it gets. Not the case for a church in the town of Shipley in Northern England. AP News reports that ‘The Wrestling Church’ combines the holy scripture with professional wrestling. It appears it was the brainchild of wrestler, Gareth Thompson, who found the Lord and began brainstorming on ways to combine biblical stories with some action in the ring. Hey, Jesus works in mysterious ways. And if this gets people to come to Sunday (or Saturday night) service, that’s a good thing, right? Who doesn’t want to see Satan get body slammed and smacked with a folding chair?! Hell yea!!
