The ceremony usually held in September/ was moved to January because of last year’s historic Hollywood strikes. The ceremony was hosted by Anthony Anderson who opened the show with a tribute to iconic TV series like Miami Vice.

The famed British singer-pianist won an Emmy for best variety special (live) for “Elton John Live: Farewell from Dodger Stadium,” a three-hour concert documentary that streamed on Disney+.
