Disney’s 10 Biggest Animated Box Office Flops

It’s no secret Disney’s “Strange World” isn’t doing very well at the box office.  It had a budget of around $180 million and so far, has only made around $42 million worldwide.

But it wouldn’t be the first time an animated movie flopped for Disney.  Here are 10 others that didn’t do so well:

1.  “Treasure Planet” (2002):  The budget was $140 million, and it grossed $109.5 million.

2.  “The Black Cauldron” (1985):  The budget was $44 million, and it grossed $21 million.

3.  “The Rescuers Down Under” (1990):  The budget was $37.9 million, and it grossed $27.9 million.

4.  “Pinocchio” (1940):  The budget was $2.6 million, and it grossed $1.4 million.

5.  “Fantasia” (1940):  The budget was $2.2 million, and it grossed $1.4 million.

6.  “Sleeping Beauty” (1959):  The budget was $6 million, and it grossed $5.3 million.

7.  “Alice in Wonderland” (1951):  The budget was $3 million, and it grossed $2.4 million.

8.  “The Sword in the Stone” (1963):  The budget was $3 million, and it grossed $4.7 million.

9.  “Bambi” (1942):  The budget was $858,000, and it grossed $2.9 million.

10.  “Fantasia 2000” (1999):  The budget was $85 million, and it grossed $90 million.
