Jennifer Lopez would like you to know that she never really got over Ben Affleck after they broke up in 2004.
She said, “It was the biggest heartbreak of my life. I honestly felt like I was going to die. It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right.”
It was so bad that she had to stop singing certain songs from her “This Is Me . . . Then” album because they were about him. “It was a part of me then that I had to put away to move on and survive. It was a survival tactic, for sure.”
J-Lo says her upcoming album “This Is Me . . . Now” is a tribute to their enduring love. “The reason we’re here is because I want to capture this moment in time because it is even better than the first time . . .
“Now I think what the message of the album is very much if you were wondering if you have, like me at times, lost hope, almost given up, don’t. Because true love does exist, and some things do last forever, and that’s real.”
