New York City Broadway Theaters Will Re-Open In September

Broadway’s back, baby!

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced today, May 5, that Broadway theaters can reopen on September 14 after shutting down over a year ago due to COVID-19.

Broadway was initially closed in March of 2020 and “at the time, there were 31 shows running, including eight new productions in previews. There were also eight more shows in rehearsals preparing to open before the shutdown hit,” reported WTHR.

“We don’t want to just re-open. We want to be better than we were before. We want to reimagine New York, reinvent New York, rebuild New York,” said Cuomo.

He also mentioned that tickets will go on sale as soon as Thursday for the fall season! Who wants to go?!
