I Don’t Like Thanksgiving Food. Fight Me.

Homemade Thanksgiving Turkey on a Plate with Stuffing and Potatoes

Every Thanksgiving my extended family gathers around the table at my parent’s house and has the best time. It’s always been my favorite holiday because I get to spend it with my favorite people, we have fun, do target shooting, and drink lots of wine! BUT… I can’t with Thanksgiving food. I  love a good deli turkey sandwich but turkey in large thick slices is really hard to eat. I don’t like stuffing- the texture makes no sense to me, green bean casserole is like a crunchy slimy nightmare, and don’t even get me started with the sweet potato casserole. WHO DOES THAT? Why would anyone want that? I realize it’s a very unpopular opinion but I have tried the last few years to bring a lasagna with me to my family’s party so I can have something awesome to eat too. This year COVID has changed everything so it will be just my parents and myself. I’ve already convinced them to scrap the turkey and the cranberry sauce and mayyyybe even get Chinese food! It won’t be the same but for the first time ever I’ll be full! 🙂
