Dawson’s Creek is moving to Netflix, but in 2020 fashion, there’s a catch.
The theme song “I Don’t Want to Wait” by Paula Cole sadly won’t make the cut. Why, you ask? MSN said “the series ran into some rights issues after its six-season run, forcing new fans catching the show on DVD and streaming services to instead nod their heads to Jann Arden’s “Run Like Mad,” which was already used as the theme song in international markets, according to HuffPost.”
Dawson's Creek — one of television's most beloved coming-of-age stories — is coming to Netflix in The US on November 1

MSN also said the executive producer of the show, Paul Stupin, wanted to use Alanis Morissett’s “Hand in My Pocket” for the theme song but it wasn’t in their budget.
Regardless, I’ll still watch it! Dawson’s Creek seasons 1-6 heads to Netflix on November 1st.
