KJ spends her afternoons keeping you entertained with 10 songs in a row every hour, her Daily Distraction at 3:20pm plus her unique perspective on pop culture, what's trending and her love (possibly borderline obsession) of cats. A self-proclaimed "fangirl", KJ tries to keep her "nerdiness" in check on the airwaves but totally geeks out on her weekly podcast, KJ's Kinda Nerdy News. Also a fan of 80s rock, you can hear her on Saturday nights on the Mix playing the best of Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Motley Crue and more on KJ's Hair Band Happy Show, 8pm to Midnight!
When she's not in the Mix studios, KJ's happy place is home with her husband and cats. KJ doesn’t have any children of her own, but you'd never know it if you visited her home. Her many nephews and nieces are always around!
KJ moved here from Wisconsin and maintains her love of the Green Bay Packers but you'll often find her cheering on the Indiana Pacers, Indy Fuel and Indy Eleven! In addition to loving our sports teams, KJ loves the Indianapolis community. She has dedicated countless hours to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society including the successful annual fundraiser, KJ's Cancer Sucks Party which is held in honor of her parents who both passed away from Lymphoma. She is a passionate animal advocate constantly working to bring awareness to the importance of spay/neuter and also dedicates time to the Make A Wish Foundation.
KJ has been recognized by Indianapolis Woman Magazine as one of the Best Female Personalities in the market and by the Indianapolis Junior Achievement League as one of Indy's Best and Brightest leaders in our community.
