Nikki The Halloween Freak: Put The Cat IN The Bag

I love love love plastic skeletons but sometimes, especially when they are the animals, they can look a little cartoon-y. I NEED THEM TO BE SCARIER!!!

If you take any plastic skeleton you can gross them up with some easy steps!

Cover the skeleton with a thick clear plastic.  It could be tarp or what we did which was several bags over top of each other.

Apply heat! It’s best to use a heat gun but we improvised with a kitchen torch and melt the plastic over the skeleton.  It should look a little stringy and melted through in some places so you can still see bones.

Next: Let’s paint! I used some stain I found in the basement from the people who flipped my house and used a paper towel to smear all over the plastic to add some color

Finally I took some regular old craft paint, some brown and red to cover the whole body. Then I put some black paint on the tip of a brush and very lightly swished it over the whole thing. The black will catch on the vein-y parts of the plastic and add a cool effect!

And you’re done!

Happy Haunting!
